FOUNDED IN 1973 BY JIM REID, Ashland Contractors began modestly by  performing small site contracts and pump stations. Early on it became clear that Ashland would take on Jim’s vision of being an aggressive, successful company.

In the eighty’s, Ashland branched into airport paving and highway bridges. Runway projects in New York, and bridge projects in N.J. It became clear that Ashland preferred to do work themselves and limited subcontracts to specialty work. By doing this, Ashland was able to control work on projects and consistently delivered projects ahead of schedule.
